Adrian Joyce is to succeed Trevor Clingan as Inspector General for Lincolnshire, formally taking on the role at an installation ceremony hosted by Tower Chapter in Grimsby on Tuesday 9th April.
Booking forms will be issued at a later date, but in the meantime, thanking Trevor and District Recorder Barry Humphrey for their help in his first tentative steps into his new role, Adrian said: “I am sure you will agree that I have some big shoes to fill. Trevor has done a tremendous job since he became Inspector General in 2016. His dedication to our special Order and the quiet, unassuming manner in which he has managed the District in an exemplary way for the benefit of us, as its members, are a credit to him.
“I can assure you that I will do my very best to follow in Trevor’s footsteps and give you all the support and assistance you have readily received over the past seven years.”
Adrian said his personal view was that the Christian values of the Ancient and Accepted Rite and the lessons taught in the Perfection ceremony had an important part to play in a Freemasons journey. “Faith, hope, charity, love, compassion, forgiveness, humility, integrity – all of these values have an important place in our modern, ever-changing world.
“We have had some important changes to our Order recently, all of which I support. We need to understand that there is a diversity in modern life that we have to accept and, in many ways, embrace. Sharing our Christian values in all walks of life, not just with our Brothers and Companions in Freemasonry, can only be a positive thing.
“Brethren and Princes, we belong to a special Order, and with your assistance I look forward to helping it to grow and strengthen over the next few years. To do that we need to understand the importance of our Craft Lodges. Our Mother Lodge is the most important part of our journey in Freemasonry, it is where we are taught the lessons and principles of a Freemason. We are fortunate in Lincolnshire to have a very enthusiastic and vibrant Province, which can only be accredited to the excellent work our Provincial Grand Master and his Executive teams have put in over the past few years.
“Information about the different orders of Freemasonry is becoming a lot more accessible. I am sure that new, enthusiastic masons will be asking questions about Rose Croix masonry. Understanding how to answer those questions will play an important part in the future of our Chapters. The first words that always come to mind when asked are that “it is special”, for those of you who have sat through many Perfection ceremonies over the years I am sure that you feel the same.
“My diary is always a busy one and I am currently adjusting it to plan in my visits to the Chapters in the District. I am very much looking forward to meeting you all in the near future and hope that my enthusiasm and passion for the Order of the Ancient and Accepted Rite, Prince Rose Croix will come through.”
