Reg Brittan was given a pleasant surprise at the most recent meeting of Lincoln’s Ermine Chapter when he was presented with his certificate to mark 50 years of membership of the Royal Arch.
The presentation as made at the second rising by Chapter Liaison Officer E Comp Colin Henson, who took on the duty representing the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent Dave Wheeler, who would have done the job in person had he not been in Grimsby on the same evening to present Gordon Smith with his 60-year Craft certificate.
The presentation was almost as much of a surprise for Colin, who didn’t know the duty to make it would fall to him until the afternoon of the meeting. it was nevertheless a great pleasure for both parties.
Reg was exalted into Ermine Chapter on April 17th 1973. He is also a member of the Geoffrey Cooper Chapter of Installed First Principals.
In Craft, he is an honorary member of Paulinus Lodge, and was a founder member of Minster Lodge in 1976, resigning from that in 2008. He is also a member of the Lincolnshire Bicentenary Lodge of Installed Masters.
