Fresh from a cross-country cycle ride alongside a peloton of Lincolnshire Freemason cyclists Phil Aitken writes: “What a wonderful four days we had undertaking the East to West Challenge – it was an absolute pleasure to be part of this excellent collaboration between the Lincolnshire and Cheshire Mark Masons.
“So, after 219 miles, almost 7,000 feet of elevation and four days of laughter (and a few expletives on the hilly sections), I can tell you that the four Lincolnshire Brethren will raise £4,000 for the Lincolnshire Craft 2025 Festival, including gift aid.”
The contribution has been given to the Lincolnshire Freemasons’ five-year fundraising drive, called a festival, to raise at least £2.25m for the Freemasons’ charity the MCF, which awards more than £50,000 EVERY DAY to charities, and is able to put even more back into Lincolnshire than is collected. The actual total raised will be revealed at a finale event taking place at the Epic Centre at the Lincolnshire Showground in September. Plans are well in advance for that event, and Freemasons, friends and families are already booking places to learn how much money has been raised.
