Members of the Paulinus A quiz team from Lincoln lived up to their ‘A’ team billing by pulling off a nail-biting victory in the final of the first-ever Lincolnshire inter-lodge quiz event – but it took two tie-breakers to separate them from runners-up Olive Union from Horncastle.
After verification from quizmaster Nick Brown and adjudicator Dave Buckingham both teams had scored 105 points, and Nick was forced to deploy both of his tiebreak questions to find the winner, each of whom will be awarded a trophy.
The ‘play-off’ for the minor places put Sir Isaac Newton third and Ancholme fourth.
