On Friday 6th December 2019, the Tennyson Chapter Rose Croix No1214 met at Skegness Masonic Hall to celebrate 175 years of Rose Croix Freemasonry.
The Chapter was honoured by the presence of Most Puissant Brother Alan J Englefield 33° Sovereign Grand Commander, ably attended by Ill. Bro. Bruce Clitherow 32°, Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies.
The Most Wise Sovereign, Ill. Bro. Graham Ives 31° opened the Chapter and welcomed M. Ill. Bro. Englefield.
After the business of the Chapter had been completed, the Sovereign Grand Commander was invited to address the assembled Princes.
He gave a most interesting talk, after which he invited Princes to ask questions; all of which were answered with eloquence and good humour.
After the Chapter was closed, the 85 Princes retired to the Banqueting Suite.
The Inspector General for Lincolnshire V. Ill. Bro. Trevor Clingan 33° gave thanks to the Sovereign Grand Commander for agreeing to attend our meeting and stated that he was very proud that Lincolnshire was first District to officially celebrate the 175th Anniversary.
The MWS concluded a superb masonic evening by presenting M. Ill. Bro. Englefield and Ill. Bro. Clitherow with gifts of salmon, freshly collected from Grimsby docks.
