Tony O’Brien, his team and their golden taxi will tour our Province in a three-day whistle-stop run around all 21 of our centres.
It’s a point-to-point rally aptly named the “SOMOTErITBErally”, and will take place over the weekend of Friday July 3rd to Sunday 5th.
Says Tony: “It is open to all Lincolnshire Freemasons and their family and friends. The rally consists of two classes – ‘Banger’ (for vehicles less than £1,000) and ‘any other vehicle’.
“Teams are of up to four people (or more if the vehicle will allow) and Lodges can enter as many teams as they wish. Motorcycles are most welcome to join in,” he added.
The route will take in every masonic centre in the Province, with overnight stays in hotels with a chance of a meal and few refreshments to be had. “However, this is optional if you live locally to one of the stopover points or wish to travel home each night. There will be tasks for the teams to complete each day in order to gain points. There will also be some tasks to do at our nightly stops. The team with the most points at the end will be declared the winner, and receive a trophy to display in their lodge building. We are looking at expanding this event in the next few years and taking it in to Europe hopefully in 2023 onwards.”
The cost for this event is £30 per driver/passenger – a booking form is below. Tony added: “Please do remember that all profits raised through these two events will go to your own Lodge totals.”
