Every year all of the almost 80 Freemasons’ Lodges in Lincolnshire are invited to choose a charity to receive a £500 cash boost – and the causes supported are as varied as the Lodges themselves.
The Freemasons’ Provincial Charity Steward Paul Ellis said the donation scheme provided an opportunity to support organisations at the grass roots of Lincolnshire communities, from Sea Cadets and scout groups to school, hospices, and village halls. He said: “The organisations our members choose to support are often the very bedrock of the towns and villages in which we live. The work they do reaches a wide spectrum of people of all ages, and often enables volunteers to be more effective in their work.”
