The dream of Skegness Air Cadets to have a new minibus has come £500 closer thanks to the town’s Freemasons.
For eight years the cadets have been helping the community with activities as diverse as packing shopping to outreach work – but the effort is close to being worth it.
Members of the 1073 (Skegness) ATC welcomed Simon Hay and Mick Robinson from Lumley Lodge when they brought the funds.
The donation held a special significance for Simon, who’d served in the RAF as a Chief Technician. He said: “It was a privilege to see the discipline and dedication of the cadets first hand, and to hand £500 to Flight Sergeant Carmel Burke with her cadet colleagues ‘on parade’ behind us.”
Carmel said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to all the businesses and individuals who continue to support.”
