Freemasons quite literally get behind community initiative in Skegness

Skegness Freemasons have quite literally got behind a community initiative in the town with a £500 donation that will help create a poignant Remembrance Day artwork.

The Freemasons’ donation will be used to buy netting that will be the foundation on which to see hundreds of poppies hand-knitted by volunteers which will form a public display organised by the Royal British Legion.

In the picture are, from left, Graham ‘Bernie’ Bolt, Nev Stockdale and Simon Hay from Lumley Lodge which gave the money, RBL President Nigel Jarvis, Kevin Woolley and Tracy Turner.

Lumley Lodge Charity Steward Mick Robinson said his members were only too pleased to support the work of the British Legion and its band of volunteer knitters in creating a spectacular display.
