Freemason Rob Wright plans to lead a team of seven on an epic cycle ride from John O’Groats to Land’s End in memory of 18-year-old Charlotte Kirk who was killed in a road accident just before Christmas.
They’ll be raising money for road safety charity Brake which promotes road safety and supports those affected by road accidents.
Riding with Rob for all or part of the way will be Kenny Doig, Alan Sharpe, Jez Hyland, Dean Edwards, Dave Andrew, and Andy Walker.
Rob said: “Representatives from Brake were instrumental in giving help and support to my close friends Helen and fellow Freemason Tristan who lost Charlotte in a road accident two weeks before last Christmas.
”Charlotte was a bright, beautiful, talented girl who had her whole life ahead of her.
“If I could raise funds to help the charity continue helping people who find themselves in similar circumstances, then every turn of the pedals on the 980-mile journey will be well worth it.”
Rob’s ride starts on September 6th in Scotland. To support his effort please visit his JustGiving page here.
Brake is a national road safety charity that cares for road victims and campaigns for safer roads for all. Its National Road Victim Service helps families cope with the shock, turmoil and devastation that road crashes cause families across the UK every day.
