Skegness Freemason Trevor Mitchell had a surprise visit by three friends from Lincolnshire who delivered a present to him in his London hospital bed to help him recover from a stroke he had in March.
It’s a device paid for by Lincolnshire Freemasons which will help him to communicate after the stroke took away his ability to speak.
Trevor is a Chelsea Pensioner, and was thrilled with the visit from Freemasons Jez Hyland, Charlie Jackson (who sorted the funding), and Chris Jones. Chris said: “It was a privilege to deliver the device to him. It’s wonderful to see him making a progressive recovery. I must thank Paul Sinclair and the Chelsea Pensioners who are doing such an amazing job looking after our Trev. He can’t wait to get home to Chelsea Hospital soon to be back with him comrades.”
Using the device Trevor is not only able to talk to people with him, but is also able to get online through Facebook. Search him out and drop him a get well message!
Trevor’s a member of St Clement Lodge and Lumley Chapter, but is loving life at the Royal Hospital. He enjoys donning his scarlet coat for a walk around the capital, and says life as a Chelsea Pensioner is all he could have hoped for and more.
