When she was Secretary of State for Health and Social Care Victoria Atkins praised founder Chris Suich for her work in creating an information pack for people living with memory loss. She said: “Bob’s Brainwaves is an excellent support pack for new carers to those who are living with memory loss. Chris has used her personal experience as both a teacher and carer of her husband Bob to create a helpful pack that can be given to new carers at the point of diagnosis. This is not only useful and time saving, but a helping hand from its inspiring founder.”
Bob’s Brainwaves offers information for those who are just beginning their journey of memory loss through dementia. Chris said: “I went through this journey with my husband Bob who had early onset dementia. It made us feel bewildered and alone; we wanted to support others with some of the information that lightened our load. Having experienced first hand how hard it was to find out how to get help following a dementia diagnosis, we aimed to collate as much useful information as possible in one place. Our information is currently focused on Louth, but much of it will be relevant to the whole of East Lindsey, Lincolnshire and beyond.”
