Freemasons belonging to St Matthew Chapter in Barton have supported the Barton Food Bank with a Christmas donation of £200 to provide selection boxes for children in households receiving food parcels.
The Chapter’s Companions noted that children in homes reliant on foodbank parcels missed out on basic treats, and didn’t want them to be overlooked at Christmas. Handing the £200 to Foodbank Manager Margaret Siddle, Chapter representative John Pullen said: “The £200 will provide enough money to buy a selection box for each child in the Barton area who wouldn’t normally have had a bar of chocolate to brighten up their day.”
