Freemasons Dave Sharpe and Andy Wells from Boston’s Pilgrim Fathers Lodge have visited the ladies of the town’s ‘Knit and Natter’ group at St. Barnabas’s Novak House to give them £150 to help them keep up their work of providing support for people who need it.
Dave said the Knit and Natter group was a self-funded community organisation whose members provide their own wool to produce items to support those in times of need. “As well as supporting each other through their life events, they produce items that are used by the local hospice and hospitals to support patients with Alzheimers, Autism, premature birth, those under going chemotherapy, the homelessness and more,” he said
“They produce blankets for chemotherapy patients, twiddle toys effective in soothing Alzheimers and Autism, caps for newborn and premature babies, cuddle toys for those having experienced trauma, and much, much more, all through their own supplies of wool. We hope our donation can help them to continue their amazing work helping to bring light into the lives of those experiencing the darkest of times. They truly are amazing people.”
DO YOU HAVE ANY WOOL THEY COULD USE? If you or your family has any wool sitting unused that you could donate please drop it in for Louise’s attention at Novak House, Endeavour Park, Wyberton Fen, Boston PE21 7TT.
