Many congratulations to those who received Grand Rank appointments or promotions over the period of the annual investiture that should have taken place on the 29th and 30th April 2020. Whilst the investiture meeting could not take place during the period of suspension, all promotions and appointments are now valid. It is a great shame that the annual investiture meeting could not go ahead as not only is it an extremely proud day for those receiving honours, who are usually well supported by Lincolnshire brethren, but it is also great spectacle for those in attendance.
To recognise the honours awarded, the PGM/MEGS, Dave Wheeler, held a zoom conference with everyone who received a promotion or appointment on the evening of Wednesday 29th April 2020.
Dave said, “It was lovely to see everyone and offer them my personal congratulations. Whilst it in no way replaces the investiture meeting, it was a very happy get together with brethren and companions from all over the Province and beyond, in John Spriggs’s case, who joined us from Canterbury. The modern technology did not prevent me from raising a glass of wine in celebration of the occasion! I understand the Pro Grand Master has written personally to all the recipients and hopes to host a gathering to mark the investiture on some future occasion”.
