Freemasons from Paulinus Lodge in Lincoln almost climbed over each other to watch their their gift of money being given to charity representative Graham ‘Teddy Man’ Cadel.
Graham will invest the money in buying more teddy bears for Lincolnshire hospital staff to give to children as a source of comfort when they’re faced with the need for hospital treatment.
The bears come from the Teddies for Loving Care charity, which has so far given more than four million bears to children nationwide.
Graham said the gift of a bear helped the children, their families, and hospital staff. He said: “These bears may be small, but their impact is huge. They become lifelong friends to the young people to whom they’re given.”
These bears may bears are bought exclusively through the generosity of Freemasons. Graham added; “Freemasons are happy to help. We all understand how important it is, in traumatic times, to have a friend beside you – even if it is a simple stuffed toy. The letters we get from parents tell us just how appreciative they are that complete strangers are happy to support them.”
Others that attended forced Graham to sell them badges !
