Riders from Lincolnshire’s Free Wheelers Lodge have cycled 100km to raise more than £3,000 to give to the Freemasons charity the MCF via our #Lincs2025 Festival.
The ride was the culmination of a week-long challenge in which Freemasons had been encouraged to walk, cycle, run, or swim a predetermined distance as a means of shedding lockdown pounds and raising money for charity.
PGM Dave Wheeler, who rode part of the route, said: “I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone involved in the Festival 100 cycle ride. It certainly couldn’t have gone any better in my view and the organisation, support and commitment from everyone was first class. It was a very enjoyable day all round and to have raised over £3,000 for the Festival was a tremendous effort. The support team were great and the centres were very welcoming with their hospitality at Spilsby, Skegness, and Horncastle, not to mention the superb welcome we received from John and Anne Crutchley at Ashby Puerorum.
“Overall it was an excellent event and if you do plan to put another one on next year I am sure it will receive even better support. Everyone who took part, whatever their contribution, as they all deserve a huge pat on the back.”
