Members of the public met Freemasons at the latest open day at the Grimsby Masonic Centre on Cambridge Road in the town.
All eight of the town’s Lodges were involved, as well as members of the Order of Women Freemasons, in meeting visiting members of the public, and almost 20 people made membership enquiries. Steve Dickson of the organising team, who’s also the Centre Membership Officer, said he’d be in touch with all of them.
Steve said: “It was a wonderful opportunity to share with our visitors what Freemasonry has been doing for more than 300 years, and continues too do in a way that makes it relevant to the modern world without losing the traditions that make it so special.
“There are almost 3,000 Freemasons in Lincolnshire, meeting in 76 Lodges in 21 centres as far afield as Barton on the banks of the Humber in the north and Deeping near The Wash in the south,” he added. “We even have special interest Lodges for keen motorcyclists and for serving and former members of the Armed Forces.”
