Freemason shares his musical talent to raise charity funds
Freemasons’ donation supports work of domestic abuse charity

Freemason Robert Adams has set himself the challenge of raising money for the National Autistic Society by tackling an ‘organathon’ at All Saints Church in Waltham.
At 9 o’clock on the morning of Saturday April 3rd next year Robert, a member of Astral Lodge, will sit down at the keyboard and play – and no-one, even him, knows when he’ll stop.
“I can’t climb mountains or cycle long distances or walk miles and miles, but I can play, so that’s what I’ll do to raise money for charity – and I’ll keep playing until my fingers give out.”
Robert says everyone’s welcome to drop in and hear him play, and if they were to drop a little money into a collection, that would be good too.
The longest church organ recital lasted 65 hours and 20 minutes, says the Guinness book of World Records, and was played by Ramana Murthy in 2019 to mark the 150th anniversary of Ghandi’s birth. (That’s not including John Cage’s ‘As Slow As Possible’, currently ongoing in Germany, which will take 639 years…)
