Utterby Village Hall has been given a £500 funding boost by Freemasons of Louth’s Lindsey Lodge to help with the restoration of the building that’s almost 120 years old.
An extensive programme of work covers everything from external signage to accessible car parking, heating, replacing the floor, and furnishings to help make it a warm and welcoming facility for the people of Utterly and the surrounding area.
The committee is keen to maximise donations by seeking matched funding from the East Lindsey Council Investment Fund, which supports community projects to enhance the community.
Lindsey Lodge Secretary Mark French said: “Utterby Village Hall was built in 1908, given to the village in trust in 1948, and became a registered charity in 1978. Its committee continues to provide a vital facility to the villagers of Utterby and beyond, which is why members of Lindsey Lodge were keen to offer their support.”
