A Spitfire from the Battle of Britain Memorial Fight is expected to fly over Doddington Hall during the Lincolnshire Freemasons’ Masons & Motors event on July 20th.
Weather and unforeseen technical difficulties permitting, the iconic aircraft is due to be at the free-to-enter event a few minutes before 2pm, briefly turning heads away from the collection of classic and interesting vehicles on the ground.
The event has become a fixture n the Lincolnshire calendar, and offers members of the public to see a collection of interesting vehicles and meet and chat to some of Lincolnshire’s 3,000 Freemasons about what they do, and why. Entrants are asked for a minimum donation of £5 for the Freemasons’ charity the MCF, which gives more than £50,000 to non-Masonic good causes every day.
Lincolnshire Freemasons are close to the end of a five-year fundraising campaign with the objective of raising at least £2.25m for the charity. The final total will be revealed at an event on September 13th
The event starts at 10am. Doddington Hall is on the B1190 to the west of Lincoln.
