A Lincoln Freemason and his friend are to walk the coast to coast path from St Bee’s in Cumbria to Robin Hood’s Bay in Yorkshire to raise money to buy teddies for the Freemasons’ Teddies For Loving Care charity.
Phil Crabtree, the newest member of Minster Lodge, and his friend Mike Arnold have set themselves the task of raising £500 for the charity, which has so far given away about 3.5million teddy bears to children going through tough times in their lives, such as emergency hospital visits.
Said the scheme’s Lincolnshire organiser Graham ‘Teddy Man’ Cadel: “These bears have a massive positive impact for young children at distressing times in their lives, who are invariably pleased to receive them almost as much as their parents are to know that someone wants to help look after their child at particularly difficult moments in their lives.
“All donations to the JustGiving Crowdfunding Page at this link will be gratefully received, and will help ease the fear of a hospital visit for a small child somewhere,” he added.
