The enthusiasm for the return of the Connaught Court retirement home Summer Fayre staged by the home’s ‘Friends’ organisation showed just how much it had been missed.
The disappointment of an enforced three-year break caused first by Covid and then by the passing of The Queen just days before last year’s event was set aside as the crowds flocked to to the event. It’s staged annually to generate funds to enhance the lives of residents at the retirement home run by the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution at Fulford on the outskirts of York.
