Freemasons of Lindsey Lodge and Hermes Lodge in Louth are working together to stage an open day on Saturday March 8th, allowing members of the public to see one of the Province’s newest centres.
All members of the public, neighbours on Louth’s Fairfield Road Industrial Estate, and fellow Freemasons who’ve not had a chance to see the centre are invited to drop in at any time after 11am until the end of the event at 6pm. Whatever time visitors arrive, they’ll be assured of a warm welcome as part of an opportunity to to experience the openness of an organisation that’s been in existence for more than 300 years. Coffee and tea will be available throughout the day.
Lincolnshire’s first Freemasons’ Lodge was created at Grantham in 1726, and the first in Louth was Lindsey Lodge, created in 1857. Hermes Lodge followed much later, in 1949.
