A new philosophy for life, the perils of French motorhome drivers, and the trying tale of clotted cream are all explored in a new video in which Chris Jones shares the highs and lows of his round-Britain walk.
Recorded by Chris Watkin at an event at the Doubletree by Hilton in Lincoln, you can watch the video at this link to the Lincolnshire Freemasons YouTube channel.
Chris set himself what he called a ‘shoot for the moon’ target of raising £100,000 for the Freemasons charity the MCF through the Lincolnshire Freemasons’ five-year fundraising Festival which sought to raise more than £2m. At the time of creating this post he’d just passed £88,000, collected from more than 920 supporters – making him without doubt a record-breaker, because no other individual has ever raised so much for the charity from a single endeavour.
He’s now refining that talk into a presentation which is in demand around the country. On the May Bank Holiday weekend Chris said: “The tour continues, delivered a talk to a WI group on Friday in Marehan le Fen near Horncastle, then rode down to Bexhill on Sea in East Sussex yesterday to deliver it to an Lodge of Instruction supper last night. That yielded another couple of donations, and the talk seems to be very well received. I’ve done it four times now, so I’m polishing it each time.
