Freemasons of the Fenland Daylight Lodge at Long Sutton have given £325 to Girl Guide Lacey Bourne to help her fund a trip to Malta.
The 13-year-old is raising £1,500 to cover the cost of representing Girlguiding Anglia later this year.
The 1st Long Sutton Girl Guides member is a Patrol Leader, helping out the younger girls with the tasks of the week. She said: “I couldn’t believe the amount the Freemasons raised to help me with my trip to Malta.
“I had the opportunity to attend several international selection days to represent Girlguiding Anglia, during which I had to take part in many team building activities.
“Going to Malta will be an amazing experience for me, not only to go to another part of the world, but to support and talk with other guides to learn more about their guiding experience, and the differences between theirs and my own.”
Lodge representative Roy Mead said: “With 58 of us dining at the Festive Board our raffle raised £325 towards her target, boosted by our Provincial Grand Master Dave Wheeler and his team who were pleased to support such a good cause – and Lacey couldn’t believe how much we raised.”
