David Malcolm Wheeler

Dave was born in Lincoln in 1959 and attended Lincoln Grammar school before joining Lincolnshire Police, as a Cadet, in 1976. He served until 2008 achieving the rank of Chief Superintendent before he retired as an Officer and worked on a regional East Midlands Police team until 2010. Dave then worked as a Consultant and Performance Development Coach until 2017. From 2008 to 2012 Dave was the County Commander for Lincolnshire St. John Ambulance and was invested into the Order of St John in 2010.

Dave married Liz, who is from Mablethorpe, in 1983 and they have two children, Louise and Richard who are both journalists; Louise working for the BBC and Richard for the Press Association.

Dave was initiated into Paulinus Lodge 3957, Lincoln, in 1987 where his father and elder brother were members. He was Worshipful Master of Paulinus Lodge in 1995 and exalted into Hugh of Avalon Chapter in 1996 where he became First Principal in 2017. In 2002 Dave was appointed Provincial Sword Bearer; in 2008 Past Provincial Junior Grand Warden
and in 2014 Past Provincial Senior Grand Warden. He was the Provincial Membership Officer from 2016 to 2018. Dave received Grand rank appointments to Past Grand Standard Bearer in 2015 and Past Senior Grand Deacon in 2018.

An active member in Mark, Royal Ark Mariners and Rose Croix, in his spare time, Dave is a committed follower of Lincoln City FC where he has been a season ticket holder for many years.

Worshipful Brother John Barry Crutchley PSGD

John Barry CrutchleyJohn was born close to his grandparents farm, Burgh-le-Marsh, in 1948, and spending all his youth there, a life in agriculture was inevitable. A local education, agricultural apprenticeship, and college, culminated in a HNDA in agriculture. Employment with an international livestock and farming company gave rise to managerial positions in all areas of agriculture in the UK, and North Africa.

He married his wife Anne in 1978, and together they spent some 20 years in their own businesses. These encompassed whole farm management, farm contracting, and machinery sales, with daughter Zoe adding an animal feed department before following her own career, and having a daughter of her own, and the only grandchild, Lily-Mae. Returning to basic farming techniques, mostly taught by his grandfather, he is currently managing, along with his wife, a fully organic estate, which is arable, with a native pedigree livestock herd.

His Masonic career started in 1981 when initiated into Eccles Lodge 8632. He has been active in Craft Masonry ever since and has been an active member of the Royal Arch when he was exalted into Shakespeare Chapter. No 426.

Vincent Peter BrooksBorn in Sleaford but spent his formative years in Essex where he met & married Jackie in 1971 Returned to Lincolnshire and the Grantham area in 1973 with his work in the furniture industry. Retired in October 2006. They have a son and daughter, and one grand-daughter and two grandsons.

Initiated into Doric Lodge No362 in 1988. Master in 2001. Active Provincial ADC 2007 Provincial Junior Grand Warden 2008. Past Grand Standard Bearer 2012 Past Senior Grand Deacon 2019

Exalted into Doric Chapter in 1990. First Principal in 2003. Provincial Grand Standard Bearer 2008 2nd Provincial Grand Principal 2010-2013 Past Grand Standard Bearer 2011

Worshipful Brother Bruce Michael Goodman PSGD

Assistant Provincial Grand Master

Born in Lincoln July 1949, educated first at St Peter-at-Gowts School, then Lincoln Grammar School and later College where he studied City & Guild Telecommunications and HNC Electrical Engineering. Bruce Started work with the GPO in 1966 and spent his whole career in Telecommunications until his retirement in 2007. Married in 1970 to Linda who sadly died in 2009. He has two sons, and two grandsons.

Bruce was a member of the Territorial Army with the 16th Independent Parachute Company, served 20 years with the Special Constabulary finishing as Area Commandant, and has always been a keen voluntary worker, with Barnardo’s, British Legion, School Governor, Church PCC and Treasurer.

Bruce was initiated into Minster Lodge No. 8702 in 1995, and Installed as Master in 2002, serving the Lodge as ADC then DC. He became an active Provincial Senior Grand Deacon in 2008 and appointed to Grand Rank in 2013. He is in several other Craft Lodges, one of which Rudyard Kipling Lodge No. 9681 he served as Master in 2006. Exalted into Ermine Chapter 1999, and becoming Z in 2010. An active member of the Lincolnshire Masonic Social Committee and has been their Treasurer since 1998. A Director of the Lincoln Masonic Centre and also an active Mason in other Orders being a member of Mark Masons, Royal Ark Mariner, Knight Templar, Red Cross, Knight Templar Priests, OSM and Royal & Select.

W Bro Stuart James Pearcey

Provincial Senior Grand Warden

Stuart still lives and works in his home town of Scunthorpe, where he has built a career in news and PR. He wrote for local, regional, and national newspapers before becoming the press officer for what was, at the time, the British Steel Corporation.
For the last 16 years he has been self-employed, but still doing media and PR work for a broad portfolio of clients in a number of business sectors. He is also the Provincial Communications Officer, having been appointed by the current PGM.
He was initiated into St Lawrence Lodge 2078 in 2000, and became its WM in 2010. He is also a member of Yarborough Lodge 422, the Bicentenary Lodge of Installed Masters 9467, and a member of the Chapter of St John 7840. But for the Coronavirus situation, he would have been installed as its Third Principal on May 14th, 2020.
His first Provincial appointment in the Craft was as Pursuivant in 2016, which was followed the year after by promotion to PProvJGD, and to ProvSGW in 2020.

He is married to Lorraine, without whose support he couldn’t be so committed to Freemasonry.

Born in Nottingham in 1962, Jez joined TSB Bank following secondary school education and there gained Institute of Banking qualifications. Having progressed through various management and adviser roles, around the country, he left banking in 1999 to set up his own financial services practice representing St. James’s Place Wealth Management plc. Jez retired from this day job in December 2018 but still remains active with other business interests in property and dentistry.

He has been married to Lesley for over 25 years with their family home being in Kirton near Boston.

Initiated into the Round Table Lodge of Lincolnshire in 2002, currently Director of Ceremonies, he was installed as Worshipful Master in 2014. Appointed Provincial Grand Steward in 2016, Provincial Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies in 2018 and Past Provincial Junior Grand Deacon in 2019. He also has the honour of being Chairman of the Lincolnshire 2025 Festival Committee and is a member of the Lincolnshire Provincial Grand Stewards Lodge where he is currently Charity Steward.

Exalted into the Round Table Chapter of Lincolnshire in 2005 he was installed first principle in 2016 and appointed active Provincial Second Assistant Grand Sojourner in 2020.

All his main hobbies are sporting related, being a passionate follower of Man United and England football teams, a keen golfer and regular cyclist.

Worshipful Brother Rev Dr Brian Roberts

Provincial Grand Chaplain

Born in Liverpool but spent most of his early years in South Shields. After leaving school Brian trained as a teacher at the University of London taking B.Ed and BSc.(Econ) degrees. During his years of teaching in Durham further study resulted in an MA in education and a Ph.D in education history. After a spell with an educational publisher he then moved into educational administration eventually retiring as deputy director. In retirement he took on the senior role of guide leader at Lincoln Cathedral for a number of years. It was during this period that Brian studied for a theology degree and became an Interfaith Minister in 2009, he was later Ordained at St Katherine’s Cathedral Church, Lincoln, in 2017.

In Masonry, he is a member of St Lawrence Lodge 2078, and founder of Glanford Vale Lodge 9769, he is a Supreme Grand Chapter officer and member of St Lawrence Royal Arch Chapter 2078, as well as a member of Geoffrey Cooper Chapter of Installed first Principals 9467. In other orders he is a 31st degree member of Patmos Chapter Rose Croix 446 and Prelate of Tennyson Chapter Rose Croix 1214. Brian is married to Sylvia, a retired head teacher.

Worshipful Brother Stephen Charles Hallberg

Born in 1955 in Grimsby, living in the area all his life, and now back residing in Grimsby.

Stephen was educated at Wintringham Grammar School and  left school in 1973 to become an Articled Clerk with Hodgson Harris, Chartered Accountants. He left in 1975 to join the Grimsby Evening Telegraph as Deputy Chief Accountant. In 1986 he began working on his own account as a practising Chartered Certified Accountant and remains doing this to date.

Married to Angie, he has two stepchildren and 2 grandchildren.

Initiated into the Lord Worsley Lodge in December 1986, he was appointed the rank of PGStB in 2018.

Exalted into the Lord Worsley Chapter in April 1989, he was appointed 3rd Provincial Grand Principal in 2015. Appointed to  Supreme Grand Chapter with the rank of Past Grand Standard Bearer in 2016

He is also a joining member of the Geoffrey Cooper Chapter of Installed First Principals.

Stephen is the Provincial Grand Master for the Mark Province of Lincolnshire and was Installed as such on the 23rd March 2019 at the Epic centre, Lincoln.

Worshipful Brother Keith Edward Appleton

Born in Chelmsford, Essex in 1958, he moved with his family to Cleethorpes in 1965 and was educated there at Clee Grammar School. On leaving school, he qualified as a Shipwright before eventually becoming a Police Officer with Humberside Police in 1980, from which he retired in 2010. Keith is married to Sarah, with 2 children and 3 grandchildren. He is a keen wildlife photographer and walker.

Initiated into Astral Lodge No: 3841 in April 2003, he was Installed as Worshipful Master in 2013. He was appointed to Provincial rank in 2016 as Past Provincial Junior Grand Deacon. Exalted into Astral Chapter in 2006 he became ‘Z’ in 2016. He is also active in other Orders.

Keith was invested as Provincial Grand Registrar in May 2018 having been previously appointed to the non-collar post of Migration Officer in 2016.

Brother Anthony David Miller

Born 1951 in Cleethorpes, educated at Havelock Secondary Modern School. Served in the Army in the REME and married his wife, Jill, in 1982.

After leaving the Army worked in various industries until finally working for Conoco for 30 years until taking early retirement in 2011.

Initiated into St. Peter Lodge in 1987 Installed as Master in 2001, appointed as Provincial Senior Grand Deacon in 2006, and promoted to Past Provincial Grand Sword Bearer in 2013.

Exalted into St. Peter Chapter in 1992, he was Installed as first Principal in 2008. Appointed as active Provincial Principal Sojourner in 2013 and  Provincial Scribe E in 2015.  Is a member of various other Masonic orders.

Worshipful Brother Noel Fisher

Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies

Born at Tongue End, near Spalding in 1949, and educated at the Gleed Secondary Modern School for boys.  On leaving school in 1965 he joined the Lincolnshire Police as a Cadet, being stationed at Stamford.  In 1968 at the age of 19 he was sworn in as a Constable and served at various stations throughout the county.  He retired in 1999 with the rank of Inspector. Married to Evelyn for 42 years with a daughter Anne, who is married to Carl.

He was initiated into Shire Lodge No 5610 at Sleaford in 1993, and was Worshipful Master in 2003. He was Exalted into the Royal Arch in Hope Chapter No 588, in 1994, and became 1st Principal in 2010. He was appointed Active  Provincial AGDC. In Craft in 2009 and Provincial Deputy GDC In 2015. He was an active Provincial AGDC In Chapter in 2015.

Stuart James Pearcey

Stuart has been a working journalist for 46 years in a career which began with writing and later sub-editing for local, regional and national newspapers before moving into the steel industry. There he produced an in-house newspaper, was responsible for media liaison, and helped to shape pan-European employee communications policy when the company merged with a Dutch producer to form Corus.

After 15 years in the industry he became self-employed (and is still working), still writing and designing for print on behalf of the steel industry, but broadening his client portfolio to include clients in the motoring, finance, manufacturing, IT, retail, and charity sectors.

He was initiated into St Lawrence Lodge No 2078 in 2001, and became Worshipful Master in 2010. He is a member of the Chapter of St John No 7840. He was appointed ProvGPursuivant in 2016 and is currently the Provincial Junior Grand Warden.

Stuart was born in Scunthorpe in 1953, and went to Scunthorpe Grammar School and the town’s John Leggott College. He is married to Lorraine, and they have four children and three grandchildren.

John Grimwood

John was born in Moulton in 1945 and still lives there. He started work in 1957 as a school boy for Gilbert Oldershaw and did not complete secondary education; preferring to work for Gilbert. He still works in the company Gilbert started.

In December 1979 Gilbert initiated him into Alexandra Lodge No985. He was Worshipful Master of Alexandra Lodge in 1991 and Provincial Junior Warden in 2006. He is a founder member of Fenland Daylight Lodge 9825 and a member of the Lincolnshire Bicentenary Lodge of Installed Masters; having occupied the Worshipful Master's chair of both simultaneously.

Joining the Royal Arch Chapter in 2004 he had the privilege of being its First Principle for two years.

John was appointed to the Grand Rank of PAGSuptWks in 2008 and was promoted to PJGD in 2017

John was appointed Provincial Grand Almoner in 2009.

Peter Tong

Following an education at Lincoln School, Peter joined the Lincolnshire Police in which he served for thirty years. He has worked for the charity, Victim Support and in primary school finance.  Since 1990, he has been involved in governance in primary and secondary education and was a non-executive director in a charity providing care and education to young adults with learning difficulties.

Married to Lynn, they have a son and daughter.

Initiated into Pilgrim Fathers Lodge in 1998 he was Worshipful Master in 2007.  He is a Founder member of Sir Joseph Banks Daylight Lodge and was Worshipful Master in 2010.  He is a member of Pilgrim Fathers Chapter and was First Principal in 2010.

He is currently Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies in Provincial Grand Chapter.

Worshipful Brother David George Buckenham

David was born in Winslow, Buckinghamshire in 1948; he spent his formative years in Aylesbury where he was educated at The Grange Secondary Modern School. On leaving school he served an engineering apprenticeship and became a Design Draughtsman. In 1971 he joined the Thames Valley Police and retired in the rank of Detective Superintendent in 2001. Following his initial retirement he became a Director of a Crisis Management Company delivering consultancy and training with Cranfield and Loughborough Universities and organizations in the public and private sector in the UK and abroad. His training of organizations included a mix of Interactive Discussion and participation and some direct teaching. He retired from this position in 2014.

David is married to Tricia and they have been married for 48 years.

David was initiated into Sandhurst Lodge No 8505 in Berkshire in 1984 and was the Worshipful Master in 1994/5. He later joined Weyland Lodge No 6507 in Oxfordshire and became the Worshipful Master in 2005/6. He is currently a member of St Botolph’s Lodge No 588 in Sleaford and was the Lodge Mentor for 6 years, finishing in 2017. David has held Past Provincial rank in Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Lincolnshire. He was Exalted into the Royal Arch in Berkshire in 1991 and was a founder member of a Chapter in Northamptonshire in 2001. He is currently an active member of Shire Chapter No 5610 in Sleaford, currently Principal Sojourner.

David is a keen Golfer.

Worshipful Brother William Stafford Read

Cleethorpes-born Bill Read was educated at Louth Grammar School. His career has involved fire, safety, personnel, security and medical responsibilities in the Fire Service in Lincolnshire, Staffordshire, Humberside and the Highlands, (where he reached the rank of Assistant Divisional Officer); the North Sea oil and gas industry; and the steel industry across the UK. Completed his career as an employee of west Lindsey District Council having been awarded a Government Civic Award for saving a life during the 2007 UK floods.

Bill enjoys motorsports, cricket, and is an ‘occasional’ supporter of Grimsby Town FC.

Bill, who lives in Brigg, was initiated into Hermes Lodge 6861 in 2001 and became its WM in 2011. He joined Glanford Vale Lodge 9769 in 2008, and was Secretary from 2012. He attained the rank of PProvJGD in 2018, and became Provincial Assistant Grand Secretary in 2019.

He was exalted into St James’ Chapter 712 in 2003, and became its First Principal in 2014, spending two years in that Chair. He is presently its ADC. He was awarded the rank of ProvGSoj in 2019.

Worshipful Brother Charles Jackson PProvAGDC

Provincial Assistant Grand Almoner

Charles was born in Cleethorpes in 1963. He attended Mathew Humberston secondary school before completing an apprenticeship in Plumbing and Heating in 1983. He was a self employed plumber and heating engineer until 1995.

In 1986 he joined the Humberside Fire Brigade as an retained fireman at Cleethorpes fire station serving as an on call firefighter for 32 years, he retired in February 2018.

Charles has been a Care Home proprietor since 1990, providing care for elderly and dementia service users. Since 1991 he has been a private landlord providing a variety of properties and accommodation including dwellings for people with mental health and learning difficulties.

In 2007 he became a volunteer crew member on the RNLI Humber all weather lifeboat at Spurn Point. Accompanied by his family, Charles provided relief cover for sickness and holidays for the permanent crew until 2011 when a new shift system was introduced bringing a close to 200 years of the lifeboat family community on Spurn Point.

Charles was initiated into Lord Worsley Lodge 3017 in 1998, he became Worshipful Master in 2009 and received the rank of PProvAGDC in 2015 Charles has been the Lodge Almoner since 2016. He was exalted into the Earl of Yarborough Chapter 2770 in 2001 and has been a joining member of the Earl of Yarborough Lodge since 2002. He has been a Visiting Volunteer for the Masonic Charitable Foundation since March 2018 and is an active member of Mark Masons, Royal Ark Mariners and Rose Croix.

Charles has been married twice and has seven children, in his leisure time he enjoys cycling, sailing, skiing and walking.
