Illnesses force Chapter D.C. into last minute changes

Chapter of St John D.C. Jim Blanchard had to think on his feet when last-minute illness meant Companions weren’t able to get to the Chapter’s installation ceremony.
He was able to turn to past Zs Mike Robinson and John Cuthbert to step into the chairs of H and J for the ceremony with very little notice.
The result was successful installation of Nick Burton as J and Trevor Davey as Z, with John staying as H throughout the ceremony.
Chapter member Stuart Pearcey said: “Jim was able to stay calm throughout what could have been a really tricky situation, but he saw the way through it and was able to put people in place and tweak the ceremony to match the available officers.
”The result was that the Chapter is on course for another successful year, and installing Rick Brady as H when he’s well enough.”
