Shakespeare Lodge at Spilsby had passed Michael Hall to the second degree – which was done with a difference because after the ceremony he was ‘grilled’ by Provincial Facebook guru Simon Noden.
Simon said: “I asked him how he prepared for his questions, and what tips he would give an EA who’s also learning the same questions. He said that having dad as a Freemason in the same Lodge had been a huge help to practice with.
Michael’s dad Gideon gave a brief history of Shakespeare having been formed in 1835, and explained that it was a moon lodge, which means that its meetings were timed to synchronise with the full moon, making it possible for members to get home in the days before electric lights.
The meeting included a reading from the very first meeting.
