More than eighty people crammed into Spalding’s Masonic Hall to watch Fraser Skells and his son Richard initiate Richard’s brother Edward.
What made the evening even more special was that Richard was Junior Deacon, escorting Edward through the ritual. He also flawlessly delivered the Charge after Initiation, saying it had been easier to do so with feeling because he’d been doing it for Edward.
APGM Jez Hyland delivered the north east corner charge, and David Buckenham gave Richard and Edward each a Lewis lapel badge, explaining its significance to them.
John DePear, below, presented Fraser with a specially-created gavel, engraved with all three Skells names, which also featured a flash of solid silver.
In our main picture Edward stands beside his father, flanked by Richard, left, and Jez.
