John Peters’ fifty years as a member of the Royal Arch have been recognised with the presentation of his 50-year certificate by Grand Superintendent Dave Wheeler.
The presentation was made at the Installation meeting of Geoffrey Cooper Chapter at Horncastle. John stood down as Scribe E of the Chapter after six years, has had a busy and varied masonic career in both Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Provinces.
A Lewis, John followed his father Cyril Peters in to Daedalus Lodge at Sleaford, where he was initiated in December 1973, and exalted into Hope Chapter in March 1976.
John said, “My wife always tells me that I can’t say no, and that’s why I have been in office in so many roles over the years – but the main reason I like to be involved is because I enjoy it so much.”
John says he hopes to continue to be involved as long as he feels able to contribute. His comments were met with spontaneous applause from all present in the Chapter. He is shown in our picture with Dave Wheeler.
