Lincoln Freemasons have achieved a socially-distanced cheque handover to support the work of a community group enriching the lives of people living in Nettleham near the city.
Nettleham Community Hub’s Manager Jaime Oliver came to The Lincoln Masonic Centre to accept a cheque for £500 from Paulinus Lodge Master David Densham, before the Lodge undertook a Covid restriction-conforming meeting.
Nettleham Community Hub is a registered charity housed in the former village library, from where people have got together to help alleviate loneliness and isolation. Volunteers have grown it into a community-wide initiative offering lots of activities, including the Buddies Dementia cafe, Parent and Toddler groups, wellbeing exercises, gentle release therapies, art classes and free computer skills lessons. There is also a small cafe which is well frequented.
Jaime said: ” We’re extremely happy that Paulinus Lodge members have supported the hub with this generous donation. It will go a long way to enable the Nettleham Community Hub to continue our valuable work.”
The funds handed over came from the Lincolnshire Masonic Charitable Association’s New Provincial Benevolent Fund, and was one of the £500 donations offered to our Lodges to give to the good cause of their choice.
