A peloton of cycling Mark masons from Lincolnshire and Cheshire are to spend four days at the beginning of May riding between Cleethorpes and Hoylake on Merseyside, where the River Dee flows into the Irish Sea to raise funds for charities including our 2025 Festival.
The ride will see stops at a number of Masonic hall across the route, including overnight stays. Cycling from Lincolnshire will be Phil Aitken, Geoff Tuckett, Tony Marston and Chris Fletcher.
The route is:
Day 1 Cleethorpes, Market Rasen, Lincoln, Newark – 62 miles
Day 2 Newark, West Bridgford, Long Eaton, Derby – 54 miles
Day 3 Derby, Kidsgrove, Nantwich – 50 miles
Day 4 Nantwich, Shotton, Hoylake RNLI – 50 miles.
Said Phil: “The ride is open to anyone who’s suitably fit, and we’ll cycle tracks and minor roads as much as possible. The riders will pay an entry fee to cover insurance, a support vehicle, and the cost of accommodation.
