Pete Adams and his wife Sallyanne are staging an afternoon tea and antiques event at our Horncastle Centre on Sunday May 10th.
Open to members, family, and friends, this Provincial Grand Stewards Lodge event will feature property specialist and auctioneer Robert Bell, who will give a short talk about antiques and their potential value. This will feature some items from his own personal collection.
Says Pete: “It isn’t feasible to hold an open-house ‘Antiques Roadshow’ type of event, but Robert has offered to provide his opinion on half a dozen antique items brought by the guests. However, he does require some advance notice so that he can do some research. This may have to be on a first-come-first-served basis, so please email or call me (pete.adams04@btinternet.com, 07704 645176) as soon as possible if you have an individual (and portable) item in mind.
“The Lodge room will be open throughout the afternoon and this will give an opportunity for our guests to see the Masonic temple where work and ceremonies take place.
“The afternoon tea will start at about 2.30pm, with catering by Charlotte Watson – so her usual excellent quality and enthusiasm for locally-sourced produce can be expected. There will be a vegetarian or vegan option available upon request.”
Dress code is smart casual, but no jeans please. There will be a raffle, so prizes would be welcomed.
Pete added: “Our aim is to offer a convivial and informative afternoon, where we can enjoy fine food and company. Perhaps we may even be surprised to learn that the antique gathering dust is actually worth far more than we thought…”
A booking form is below, and below that Pete has produced information to help those not familiar with the area to find parking spaces. It’s importent to note that the car park at the Admiral Rodney is for the use of residents only.
