Here’s the first public appearance of Lincolnshire Freemasons’ Excellence In Care Award, which will be presented for the first time at the Provincial Grand Lodge meeting in May 2024.
The recipient will be selected from amongst a range of submissions which are being sought from all of our Lodges. The award, in its 20cm cube, is a miniature facsimile of our street art contribution to the HeART Trail in support of St Barnabas Hospice, which stood outside the Transport Hub in Lincoln throughout the summer.
In a letter send around the Province PGM Dave Wheeler said: “I am very keen to recognise the work of those brethren who care for other brethren and their families or make a significant commitment to the community.
The Province of Lincolnshire Care Excellence Award is a new and prestigious award that shines a light on the heartfelt and challenging work undertaken by a brother during the previous 12 months, which has not only made a significant difference, but has also been inspirational to others. It will be presented for the first time at the Provincial Grand Lodge meeting in May 2024.”
The winner will hold the award for a year, with a view to it being presented again at future PGL meetings.
To nominate a member of your Lodge or Masonic Centre please send an email to Assistant Provincial Almoner Mike Allen (michaelallen965@btinternet.com) with the name and contact details for the individual, and a brief outline of what you think makes them a suitable recipient. The closing date for submissions is December 31st this year. Full details are in the letter sent to your Lodge secretary on August 2nd.
