Here’s something you might not have considered: Mentoring is a two-way street, because the colour of your apron doesn’t mean you know less than anyone else.
The new Portal system, a window of the digital future of Freemasonry, is a perfect example. Although some more senior members are up to speed with tech, there are those who, undoubtedly well-versed in Freemasonry, have a tendency to be technophobes – so when it comes to registering for Portal and using it, very often it’ll be the newer (dare we say younger) members who are most comfortable with it.
So here’s the plea to the tech-savvy amongst us: step up and help other members to register. You know yourself how simple it is. You might even consider inviting the Secretary to let members know that you’re ready and willing to help others who in turn might be too shy to ask for help. The Portal QR registration code is here. Show them how to scan it.
Remember, the more all of us can put into Freemasonry, the more we can all get out.
