Helping out a friend and former work colleague has brought Tim Allen back onto the Chair of Crowle-based Vermuyden Lodge after a 13-year gap.
He explained that he’d given an open-ended promise to his Dave Torn when he said: “I’ll do whatever I can to support you in your year. What do you want? Dave asked me to be Senior Warden, and I said I would – naturally, moving on to be Master was the next step, so now I’m in the chair again!”
Tim has chosen for his charity the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance because he believes it provides a service everyone in the Province might need at some point.
The Lodge is shifting its charity emphasis now that the Festival is over, and intends to build up a fund from which it can support tiny volunteer-run good causes in and around the Isle of Axholme, within which the Lodge meets.
Representing the PGM on the night was Provincial Communications Officer Stuart Pearcey, with Mike Martin as his DC.

IPM Dave Torn, left, hands keys for the Crowle Masonic Hall to Tom Allen. The Lodge Master is the key holder for the Lodge during his year, making him first into the building and last out on Lodge nights. Dave was keen to show off the key fob, which had been added by Lodge member Paul Fox who should have been there, but was, in his words, ‘stuck in Birmingham’ on the night.
