An improvised Installation meeting at Doric Chapter in Grantham has seen Walter Cook stay in office for a second year.
The ceremony was put together by Chapter D.C. Robert Holland, and coinciding with an official visit by Second Provincial Grand Principal Steve Roberts and officers of the Provincial team.
The improvisation saw Mark Goddard stepping back into the role of H, and would have put Dennis Pell into the chair of J, had Dennis not been at the funeral of a close friend.
Steve said: “Robert Holland drew up a schedule for the ceremony, not to be found in the ritual book, in order to accommodate the unforseen circumstances, following which he and his Assistant, Keith Corner, then directed a slick and polished ceremony.
“Add to that a very enjoyable and convivial festive board, and everybody went home happy, albeit it earlier than expected. I’m sure many of our partners questioned why we didn’t get home as early from other meetings…”
