Ralf Galloway of Doric Lodge writes…
If you want to find out what connects our barmaid to the mosaic carpet, if you want to learn about the true significance of the gavel, if you have wondered about the origins of the tracing boards, and if you don’t know, what a “Flamberge” is used for, then there is only one place to go to:
The Doric Lodge of Instruction Festival st 6.15pm on Nov 11th 2025, Masonic Hall, Chambers Street, Grantham, NG31 8BL.
The Doric LoI festival plays are famous for their blend of advancing masonic knowledge and communicating happiness.
Expect to be entertained and astonished by the Doric Brethren, supported by Brethren of the William Peters Lodge, when they re-enact an emergency meeting held in the 1850’s. Suitable for all degrees and ranks. (Coaches welcome)
“This follows the highly successful and acclaimed play titled “What the dickens do the Deacons do” (performed in the Doric Lodge) which explores, in a very entertaining format, the history and role of the Deacons and explains the discrepancy of their alleged “messenger duties” and their real responsibilities.
“Doric Lodge, Grantham – always an entertaining evening!”
