PGM Dave Wheeler took his whole Provincial team to Doric Lodge in Grantham to see Keith Harrison install his son Richard as its Master.
Simon Noden, right, writes: “Seeing a father place his son in the Chair is a rare and deeply emotional experience that perfectly encapsulates the continuity and family bonds within Freemasonry.
“A few years ago Keith invited Dave to be his personal guest for this occasion, because Dave had been the official visitor at Richard’s initiation. In a wonderful gesture of support, the PGM instead arranged a full Provincial team visit to mark the event.
“Outgoing Master Karl Dring handed over the chair for the installation, and Lodge DC Ralf Galloway conducted the proceedings like a true maestro conducting an orchestra. With a rich history spanning over 200 years, Doric Lodge’s sense of tradition is palpable.
“I was honored to be asked to respond on behalf of the visitors at the Festive Board. In a world often far too busy, the camaraderie we felt last night is exactly what Freemasonry is all about.”
