Scunthorpe Sea Cadets put on a parade and inspection to say ‘thank you’ to members of Ancholme Lodge in Brigg for the £750 donation from the New Provincial Benevolent Fund.
The money was put towards the Cadets’ minibus fund, and has enabled them to have their own bus for the first time in ten years.
Simon Cullen is the Officer in Charge of the ship’s company. He said: “Scunthorpe Sea Cadets would like you thank the Freemasons for your very generous donation towards our minibus fund. I am delighted to say that we have now just purchased our first minibus in over 10 years!
“Buying the minibus means that the cadets can attend more courses, events, competitions and local community events. This, in turn will boost their confidence, morale and social skills.
“From the whole Ships Company, we would like to thank you once again for your very generous donation which enabled us to give the cadets their very own minibus.”
