Lincolnshire Freemasons caring for those with dementia are being offered a selection of colouring books thanks to a link between Lincoln’s Paulinus Lodge and Brethren in Essex.
Says Lodge member Chuck Boulton: “They’re Art Therapy Books kindly donated to me by Get Started Art and endorsed by UGLE, the Masonic Charitable Foundation and The Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution Care Co.
”In support of Dementia Action Week, A grand total of 20,000 Art Therapy Books were donated to over 150 hospital wards, dementia charities and support groups across the UK, including the 17 care homes of the RMBI Care Co and those of the Peabody Trust, Runwood Homes, Westgate Healthcare and B&M Care, which all offer specialist residential care for those living with dementia.
”The Art Therapy Books project, produced by Get Started Art has been strongly supported by many Essex Masonic Lodges. In just nine months, more than 100,000 large and small colouring books have been donated to homes and day centres for Alzheimer and dementia sufferers, people with neurological needs, stroke survivors and senior wards in hospitals.
“I still have a number of these books, both large and small, to distribute to other Lincolnshire Masonic Lodges if they have a contact they can give them to.”
