The Crowle Lodges’ hog roast can continue at Barker’s Farm after the untimely death of Robin Barker earlier this year, say his widow Ginnie and her family.
And this year’s event raised £1,520 which will be shared between the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance and Firefly, which helps patients get to hospital appointments, both of which had been dear to Robin’s heart.
Amongst the thanks given by Matt Dunstan of the organising team were to Wenda and John Tasker, who provided enough free strawberries for the hundreds present to have some, to Richard Turner who’d been up at 4am to make sure the pork was cooked, and to Jill Braithwaite, who collected money, and, as Matt said: “Organises us and makes sure Andy Urry gives tickets to the people who are supposed to have them.”
Twelve hours in and still smiling. Richard had catered for a wedding the day before the Crowle event, for which he was up at 4am.

Neil Grimboldby and Colin Taylor, making their first live appearance as Drinking with Monkeys, entertained the crowd.
