Freemasons brought together the highest standard of ceremony, charcuterie, and fun for the finsl Free Wheelers Lodge meeting of the season that one guest described as the best visit he’d ever made.
The camaraderie was highlighted, though members of the lodge would just say that they have great fun!
The meeting saw the official handover of the poppy wreath that will be laid at the Freemasons national memorial service, which was shared between the Free Wheelers and the Widows’ Sons.
The venue was Market Rasen, furthering the quest of holding a Free Wheelers’ meeting at every masonic centre in Lincolnshire, with 50 diners were impressed with the Charcuterie selection.
The meeting itself was the election of next year’s Master, an excellent talk from Mike Kelly detailing the quest to discover the site of a WW1 battle, and the safe dispatch of the Lincolnshire Freemasons remembrance wreath for onward travel.
Support for the Freemason-funded charity Teddies for Loving Care came in the final Heads and Tails of the year. Ian Batchelor did not win for a fourth time, but relinquished bear to the safe hands of incoming member John. However, Ian was able to present the Province’s TLC lead, Graham ‘Teddy Man’ Cadel, with a cheque for £250 as a result of this year’s games. Graham will be investing the money into more bears to give comfort to young children in hospital.
