Scunthorpe Freemason Jason Baker intends to conquer ten kilometres of mud and mayhem to raise money for the Lincs2025 festival – and he doesn’t want to do it alone.
He’s on the lookout for like-minded volunteers to join him in a team to tackle a Born Survivor event, billed as the ‘ultimate military obstacle course’; not only 10km long, but strewn with 32 obstacles set up by Royal Marine Commandos. Says Jason, a member of Industry Lodge at Scunthorpe: “It’s like a Tough Mudder event on steroids; muddier and tougher; a real challenge.”
He wants to use the event to raise at least £2k for the Festival, possible even making it an annual challenge. “I’m prepared to tackle it on my own, but I’d much rather do it as part of a team,” he says.
He’s set a target of £2k, and says that should be easy to reach if a team can come together. “I already have some volunteers to join me, but there’s always room for more.” He’s called the team ‘Solomon’s Select’, which he wants to travel with him for the event in Lancashire on September 16th.
Are you up for the challenge? There’s more information about it below and on the web; just search ‘Born Survivor’. To get in touch with Jason to talk about it, or even to enter, email him at jasoncharlesvictor@gmail.com or call 07885 557092.
