The latest member to join St Lawrence Lodge in Scunthorpe has been presented with his ‘Freemasonry starter kit’ by Lodge Mentor Stuart Pearcey.
Stuart said: “The case contains lots of invaluable information; we include a copy of the ritual our candidate as just enjoyed, the initiate’s guide, Discover Freemasonry in Lincolnshire, Discover More about the Royal Arch, copies of Masonic Lincs, lyrics for the songs we sing – and other useful stuff.
”The contents of the case are the initiate’s to keep; the case is returned when he does his third and gets his own. We think it’s a really important dimension in making the new member feel welcome and a part of the Lodge. It’s so important to do that; members who feel included and valued are less likely to leave, and that’s good for all concerned.”
