Lord Heneage Lodge gave up a business meeting to make way for Smyth Lodge to raise its member David Gardner to the degree of a Master Mason.
Multiple ceremonies are now commonplace, so this was an extra bonus to a successful lodge with a full calendar of ceremonies.
Lord Heneage Lodge opened as usual, then handed over to the Smyth team with Ray Pearson standing in as Master for the current Master Andrew Oliver who was indisposed.
The raising was completed by Smyth officers, and the Lodge positions handed back. John Armstrong, who took the pictures, said: “It was a happy joining of two Lodges on the evening, and a pleasure for the happy candidate.”
