On behalf of all of Lincolnshire’s Almoners Charles Jackson and John Grimwood have come together to offer this New Year message:
Farewell 2025 and hello 2026!
Another year is ahead of us, how are we going to tackle it? Positive thinking does not necessarily mean avoiding difficult situations. Instead, positive thinking means making the most of potential obstacles, trying to see the best in other people, and viewing yourself and your abilities in a positive light.
When life isn’t so easy for us we remember our chequered carpet. Brighter days are ahead and we are thankful for the good times that we have had.
Don’t you think that our Craft and Royal Arch meetings are a tonic?
The Province-funded coffee mornings, being held monthly in Scunthorpe, Lincoln, and Grimsby are offering a vital much needed connection for elder brethren, wives, widows and friends – and thank you to the coordinators. Members who are unable to attend evening lodges are able to meet up with friends and still feel involved. Members of centres local to the centre holding the coffee morning are welcome too.
There is funding available for a further two centres to provide monthly coffee mornings, up- to £2,000 a year for each centre. We are looking for one in the south and one in the southeast of the Province.
Could you be a Centre coffee morning coordinator? Please contact Charlie on the number below if you would like more information about coffee mornings.
If you are over 40, don’t forget to book in for the CHAPS PSA blood screening at our Provincial Meeting on 13th May 2026 when booking in details become available. Your Secretary or Scribe E will have the details, and they’l also be published on the web site news pages.
Watch out for our Masonic runners and walkers at a Park Run near you. The exercise and a sense of togetherness is really good for our Mental Health. Spectating can also be enjoyable, why not come along and support your fellow Bretheren? Keep your eye on the web site and social media for reminders as the dates and venues get closer.
We’ve been at the forefront of enhancing Brethren welfare and here are some of our standout moments of 2025.
MCF Support for Lincolnshire individuals and families:
The Old Benevolent fund grants for individuals, families and events:
Please contact your Lodge or Chapter Almoner or Charlie, the Provincial Almoner, on 07970 259344 if you require advice or support. Much of my support involves sign posting. I find that a talk on the telephone whilst the issue is on your mind can often give you options that you may not have thought about.
We thank all the Almoners and MCF Visiting Volunteers for their continued commitment and the vital job that they do and wish all the Brethren and their Families all the best for 2026.
