Scunthorpe’s Industry Lodge has welcomed eight Brethren from north of the border to enact the Scottish version of the First Degree Ceremony.
Reciprocal visits between Industry Lodge and Lodge 169 Thistle & Rose, in Stevenston, Ayrshire, have been happening for the last ten years thanks to David Carswell, whose family comes from Stevenston, but who lives and works in Scunthorpe.
Phil Aitken, another Industry Lodge PM, said: “The degree was carried out with sincerity and aplomb and it was a real treat for everyone witnessing it – very different in places to our version, and was seen by 30 visitors from 16 Lodges .”
Dave Carswell is on the right of the front row. The Scottish visitors were: George Reid (IPM), John Mackellar (PM), Stewart Gray (DOM), Ronald McColm (PM), Michael Woods (MM), Michael McSorley (MM and candidate) (all from Lodge 169 Stivenstoune Thistle and Rose); R Winter (PM, Lodge 1705 Stinchar Valley); and F Christie (WSW Lodge 1822 Earreghaidheal Perthshire).
