RAF Cranwell is to be the venue for a meeting of the Somerset Military Lodge on February 7th next year – and Lincolnshire Freemasons are invited to attend.
The meeting will be a first degree ceremony, but as it’s on an RAF base it’ll be treated as a Station visit by the RAF, which means attendees will get the full Mess experience, which includes a number of treats, says Lodge secretary Scott Gibbons. He said: “That even includes transport laid on to ferry us about, as airfields tend to be large and spread about.”
Cost for the Festive Board (details of which are below) is £90 per person, including a £10 charity donation. The base also has 88 single rooms available at £30 each, but says, Scott, they’re not of hotel standard. “Shocking, I know,” he says, “so please bring your own wash kit and towels.” A full English breakfast is available for £5 the following morning, payable on the day (but please bring cash AND card).
Scott adds: “When booking, if you want accommodation please indicate so and pay £120 per person for the complete package.” Booking deadline is January 19th.
To make a booking email W Bro George Reed (email in the poster below) with your full name, dietary requirements, Masonic rank, car make, model, and registration, and confirm if you want overnight accommodation. Put in the same details for any guests. Payment details are in the poster.
